In 2016, members of the "Deutsche Zentrum für Infektionsforschung" (German Center for Infection Research, DZIF) and the "Deutsche Konsortium für translationale Krebsforschung" (German Cancer Consortium, DKTK) ventured to join the six German Health Centers of Excellence (Deutsche Zentren der Gesundheitsforschung) that are all (and exclusively) represented in Munich under one Topic. Immunotherapy recognizably shapes the Research in Munich to a remarkable extent: for this reason, the MITC shall bring together the topics and the people who contribute to this distinctive feature of the Research Landscape in Munich.
We, the researchers involved in the MITC, aim to
- strenghthen the exchange among each other,
- achieve a consensus on and to promote cooperative initiatives that span across the Health Centers,
- identify and exploit funding resources, and
- present the Site Munich among the Health Centers under the distinctive feature of Immunotherapy.
The MITC Lecture is the first joint Series of events initiated by the MITC. During the course of a year, 3 to 4 Lectures have been and will be prepared by one Health Center, respectively, as an opportunity to present own activities in the field. Two speakers will address basic aspects, translational and clinical activities and pharmaceutical perspectives.
